우리는 오늘 한국과 이스라엘 수교 60주년을 축하하며 이스라엘과 세계의 평화를 위한 기도회로 모였습니다.
We are gathered today to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Israel and to pray for the peace of Israel and the world.
 
한국과 이스라엘은 여러가지로 비슷한 점이 많습니다.
현재 이스라엘이 아랍 국가들에 둘러 싸여 여러가지로 어려움을 겪고 있듯이, 역사적으로 한국도 중국, 러시아, 일본 여러 나라에 둘러 싸여 많은 어려움을 겪어 왔습니다.
Korea and Israel share many commonalities.
Just like Israel, which has faced the challenge of being surrounded by Arab nations, historically, Korea has also faced the challenge of being surrounded by many nations including China, Russia, and Japan.
 
그리고 이스라엘이 1948년 5월 14일 영국의 위임 통치 종료와 함께 독립하여 국가를 수립했듯이, 한국도 1948년 8월 15일 미국의 신탁 통치로 부터 벗어나 대한민국 정부를 수립하게 되었습니다. 자유민주주의를 기초로 한 독립국가가 세워진 것입니다.
Additionally, like Israel which established its independence from the British mandate on May 14, 1948, Korea became independent from the trusteeship of the U. S. to establish its government on August 15, 1948. Both Israel and Korea were independent nations founded on democracy.
 
 
74년전 이스라엘이 독립하게 된 것은 그 누구도 기대하지 않았던 일입니다.
전능하신 하나님께서 이 일을 가능케 하셨습니다.
74년전 한국도 대한민국 정부를 수립하고 독립국가를 세웠습니다.
이 일 역시 하나님의 주권적 역사였습니다.
74 years ago, nobody expected Israel to become an independent nation.
It was the almighty God who made this possible.
74 years ago, Korea also established the government of the Republic of Korea.
This too was a sovereign act of God.
 
모든 유대인들은 언제나 신명기 6장 4절을 그들의 신앙으로 고백합니다.
‘이스라엘아 들으라 우리 하나님 야훼는 오직 유일한 야훼이시니’(쉐마 이스라엘 아도나이 엘로헤이누 아도나이 에캇)
이 신앙으로 인해 하나님은 이스라엘을 오늘날까지 복 주시고 보호해 주셨습니다. 이 신앙은 유대인들의 진정한 능력이요 힘입니다.
All Jews recite Deuteronomy chapter 6 verse 4 as their creed. ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.’ (Shema Yisra’el, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad)
It is this faith, which has brought God’s blessing and protection upon Israel to this day. This faith is the true strength and power of the Jewish people.
 
이 신앙은 이스라엘의 위대한 영적 유산이며, 모든 기독교인의 영적 유산이기도 합니다.
This faith is the great spiritual inheritance of Israel and is also the spiritual inheritance of all Christians.
 
성경은 예루살렘의 평화를 위해 기도하라고 말씀합니다.
The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
 
 
시편 122편 6절
예루살렘을 위하여 평안을 구하라 예루살렘을 사랑하는 자는 형통하리로다
Psalm 122:6(NKJV)
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.”
 
예루살렘의 평화를 위해 기도하고 우크라이나의 전쟁이 속히 그치기를 위해서도 기도해야 합니다. 또한 세계 유일의 분단국가인 대한민국의 평화통일을 위해서도 기도해야 합니다. 예루살렘의 평화는 세계의 평화를 가져올 것입니다.
We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the war in Ukraine to end swiftly. We must also pray for the peace of Korea, the world’s only divided nation. The peace of Jerusalem will bring the peace of the world.
 
오늘 한국과 이스라엘의 수교 60주년을 축하하는 자리에 함께 해 주신 모든 분들께 감사드립니다.
하나님께서 여러분 모두에게 복 내려 주시기를 기원합니다. 샬롬!
We thank everyone who has come to this prayer breakfast to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Israel.
