Marine corps strategy camp (http://www.camptank.com), an affiliation of Korean Association for Personality Education announced that it will open the 21st marine corps super leadership camp during the coming winter vacation.

This winter camp will be open from 27DEC2010 to 15JAN2011 at Muju training center in Cheonbuk. Participants will experience such activities performed in marine corps training camps as basic physical training, training for good posture, ranger training, graveyard experience, IBS training (rubber boat training), barrack life experience, sentinel duty, and roll call under the guidance of instructors from marine corps training center.

In addition, logical way of thinking, servant leadership, service at nursing home, teamwork training, and such good character as training for spirit of community, and table manner from which participants can learn serving other people and sacrifice will be taught. Good character education will be conducted directly by lecturers from Korea Association for Good Character Education.

Instructors who led the program “Our Kids Changed!” which is being aired by SBS since 2008 will help improve the communication between family. This association will have a presentation for parents in early December, explaining to them about the lectures, camp facilities, insurance, and training contents.

“Pampering your child will spoil them. Kids should learn how to solve the problem together with other people. By doing so, parents can teach their child good character and leadership” said Yang Seung Bong, chief director of Korea Association for Good Character Education.

Participating fee for 4 days/5 nights is KRW 380,000, and for 9 days/10 nights KRW 800,000. Participants who join the camp with their family members will get 10% discount, and child of police officer, military personnel, and fire fighters will get additional discount of KRW 30,000.

Groups of 10 or more participants will get special discount. Students from the first year of elementary school to high school can participate (Tel: 1644-0242).

What is Marine Corps Strategic Camp?

It is a boot camp for civilians privately operated by ex-marine corps instructor. It opened in July2003 and has 5 camps in Silmido in Incheon, Daebudo in Ansan city, Daecheon in Chungnam, Pohang in Kyungpook, and Muju in Cheonpuk. Participants include new employees of companies and a group of 30 to 100 participants stay for 1 day, 1 day/2 nights or 2 days/ 3 nights to improve their team work and mental spirit. Other participants include students or various youth organizations and they stay for 1 day, 1 day/2 nights, or 2 days / 3 nights as a group of 400 to 600 participants. During the vacation, students from foreign countries (about 10% of them are overseas Koreans) from second year in elementary school to college for 2 days / 3 nights to 11 days / 12 nights.
