NCOA, CDI Asia-Pacific Chapter president, “Thank you to president Shin for inviting us for a blessed Christmas.”
  [NewsA Reporter Kwang-weon Lee] Pastor Shin Hyun-ok (chairman and president) of the Korea-U.S. Armed Forces Association invited U.S. soldiers and their families to dinner at Camp Humphreys River Bend Golf Club on the 20th for Christmas 2023.
 
The dinner was held at a dinner table where Pastor Shin Hyun-ok, president of the Korea-U.S. Armed Forces Association, expressed her consolation and gratitude to those who leave their hometowns and homeland to repay those who contribute to world peace in other countries.
  Governor Shin Hyun-ok first pioneered the church in Busan, Korea, leaving her beloved children in the U.S. 22 years ago with a determination to preach the gospel to her home country after moving to the U.S. as a young and getting a green card and living under permanent residency in the U.S. And she is currently working as a pastor in Pyeongtaek.

President Shin, who has been practicing sharing with the love of Christ, invited U.S. soldiers and their families because she has special affection for the U.S. military, which contributes to world peace in Korea.

The dinner venue was inside the base in Pyeongtaek. After greetings from “Department of provost Marshal's Office”, president Shin Hyun-ok gave words of blessing focused on Corinthians 13:13 for attendees and blessing for their health and safety while serving in Korea.

  In her sermon, Governor Shin said, "Love is given unconditionally," and blessed, "Just as God saved us, who became sinners, we, who received that love and became God's children, let's share the unconditional love that Christ Jesus told us for our family and for those who are next to us."
 
Later, during the dinner, after special praise by Pastor Kim Hyun Ae. a poem recitation was conducted in English by Lee Kang-chul and Shim Mi-ok, who are active in Korea as actors and poets.
 
Meanwhile, U.S. soldiers and their families delivered a plaque of appreciation to Pastor Shin Hyun-ok, president of the U.S. Armed Forces Korea Association under the name of CDI and president of the Asia-Pacific chapter of the NCOA.
  NCOA and CDI said on the plaque of appreciation, "We would never have fulfilled our duty in another country without the generous support, hard work, and interest of the people living in the Republic of Korea, and thank you for inviting us for this wonderful occasion for the blessed Christmas." We, NCOA, will work together with President Shin for the entire community of soldiers and families.
